Degree Course
Bachelor of Commerce
University of Newcastle (UON) maintain strong relationships with employers and professional associations to ensure that the courses and majors offered in our Bachelor of Commerce degree maintain real-world relevance in a complex business environment.
In the first year of the Commerce degree you will complete courses from a broad range of disciplines. This initial year gives you a strong grounding in business and economic principles, and you will learn core business development skills before selecting your major. You will develop skills in the following areas:
- accounting

- law
- marketing
- microeconomics
- finance
- business decision making
In the second and third year, you’ll undertake courses relevant to your chosen major in accounting, economics or finance.

Bachelor of Business
When you study a Bachelor of Business degree you will establish a firm understanding of the contemporary business environment and undertake studies in a range of disciplines. You’ll have the opportunity to select your courses from eight business-related majors.
In your first year of the business degree you will complete courses from a broad range of disciplines. This initial year of business studies gives you a strong grounding in business principles and equips you with a set of core business development skills before you choose your major. You will develop skills in the following areas:

Master Course
Master of Business Administration (Global)
The MBA (Global) program develops these critical capabilities through an innovative and rigorous curriculum, expert and highly engaged staff, and an active, problem-based approach to learning that develops confidence and work-readiness.
All 16 courses in the MBA (Global) have been developed exclusively for the program. In addition to the 11 core (compulsory) courses, you will also have the opportunity to study elective courses in cutting edge areas of interest, including innovation and entrepreneurship, behavioural economics, change management, and business and climate change.
Master of International Business
The Master of International Business focuses on developing skills and understanding required to be a successful manager for organisations with an international focus by enriching student’s knowledge on various areas of a global business including international strategy, marketing across countries, international human resources management and cross cultural negotiation.
