Master of Professional Business Analysis (MBusAn)
MBusAn is a conversion programme designed for graduates outside the ICT sector who want to become business analysts. The degree has been developed as a component of the Wellington ICT Graduate School created by Victoria University and its partners. The programme is closely linked with industry requirements and courses are offered with industry collaboration.
Structure
MBusAn is a 180 point degree consisting of 10 taught courses plus a project taken full-time over 12 months, starting in July (Trimester 2) of each year.
Courses in the first part of the programme are organised around seminars where students learn about the latest theoretical advances, and apply these to a case which mirrors the challenges and complexities of a real-world business.
In the second part of the programme, courses are organised as clinics and students work directly with industry partners in a workshop setting, examining real business problems, and the final project requires significant time working with an industry partner, under the supervision of an academic.
Career opportunities
The MBusAn programme seeks to provide capabilities to students to meet the shortage of skills observed in the ICT sector.
