Aberdeen University comprises of 12 different schools which delivers the best teaching and research on a broad range of subjects and disciplines. This includes arts and social sciences, life sciences and medicines, physical science, business school, etc. Undergraduate students can opt from almost 370 first degree courses, and postgraduates can undertake supervised research in all departments of the University and choose from over 120 taught Master degrees.

At the School of Engineering we offer MEng and BEng degree programmes in a wide range of specializations. The MEng is a five-year Honours programme and the BEng is a four-year Honours programme, both of which are accredited by the Engineering Institutions. It all started in 2007, when University of Aberdeen’s Department of Archeology emerged as the one of the youngest of all archeology
departments in the UK. As befits the ‘Global University of the North’, archaeology at Aberdeen has a special high-latitude focus that is found nowhere else. Geographically, we are ideally suited to access some of the country’s most interesting archaeological sites.

In partnership with the village corporation Qanirtuuq, Inc. and the Yup’ik Eskimo village of Quinhagak, Alaska, is working to record archaeological sites threatened by rising sea levels along the Bering Sea. This is something
students could volunteer to be part of, to broaden their sight and also experience.

– The BSc route covers subjects such as the origins of modern humans, ancient environments, bioarcheology, Scottish archaeology and excavation and research skills
